Weather week!

Art that kind of looks like rain or wind to meThis week we’ll be exploring all different kinds of weather. We will probably experience them all in this week, too, given the mercurial nature of March in the Deep South.

Monday- order your books from the library. Download : Bach’s “Adagio” Toccata, Adagio and Fugue Chopin’s “Raindrop”, prelude Op. 28 No. 15, Grafe’s “Cloudburst”, Grand Canyon Suite, Strauss’s Thunderburst and Lightning Polka and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.  Make rain sticks. Build a fort. Use said rain sticks and fort to pretend that it’s raining and you are various creatures seeking shelter from the rain.

Tuesday- Make a kite.

Wednesday- Make a kite sandwich and take your kites and sandwiches to a park and fly kites. Pick up books from the library.

Thursday- Have a “cloud race” with straws and cotton balls. Blow bubbles.

Friday- Family Movie Night.  Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, served with a simple supper of spaghetti and meatballs is just the ticket. If you’re observing abstinence for Lent, you could simply omit the meatballs or try some of the meatless meatballs that are available.

Saturday is family fun day. The weather is so nice, just get outside and enjoy it together! Park, zoo, hiking or your own backyard, just soak up some sunshine!

Have fun this week!
