Wellness Wednesday- Just the Facts, Ma’am

Just cold hard facts tonight. Overall, I am pretty healthy already. My blood pressure and heart rate are ever so slightly elevated. My glucose is a little bit on the low side. The BMI and waist measurement are honestly shocking. I had no idea it had gotten that bad. How is that even possible, that I could be so self-unaware? Perhaps it’s just a form of denial. But there it is. No denying it now. I have been avoiding this all week, which is itself a form of denial. What do you do with that? Seriously. So there is no comprehensive plan at this point. Do you have a great plan ? Cause I’d love to hear about it!

On a more positive note, I have managed to exercise every day this week, which for me is HUGE!! Today’s exercise was 2  1/2 hours of hiking at Ruffner Mountain! We saw the coolest yellow bird  and two snakes! Another positive is that I was made a member of the Birmingham Girls Club today! YAY! Super excited about this! One mission of this group is promoting  philantrophy: therefore every month there will a challenge that’s sort of like a reverse DietBet: I will pledge to do χ and friends, family, supports will pledge γ dollars to the month’s chosen charity.  This month I promise to walk at least 30 minutes everyday. That seems like a stretching kind of goal, hard-but doable. If you’d like to give to the Crisis Center, Inc. , here’s the link http://www.crowdrise.com/BGCMayChallenge/fundraiser/hilaryweston . Thanks for even considering it.

  1. Congrats on being in the Girl’s Club! It will be fun and healthy. As for a plan, I don’t have one, either, but here’s what I’ve been doing, Week 1: log in everything I eat on My Fitness Pal, drink only water, exercise whenever possible. So far it is working. Portion control is really hard for me! Keep up the good work.

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Leave a comment.
